Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between countdown and stopwatch?

Countdown ticks down from a duration you set and stops at zero. Stopwatch counts up from zero to measure how long something takes.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

The browser may throttle background timers. For critical alarms, keep the tab visible or use a dedicated device alarm.

Can I change the duration while running?

Edit hours, minutes, and seconds when the countdown is paused. Reset to restore the last set duration.

Is anything stored?

No. Timer state lives only in the current page session and is not saved to a server.

Is this the same as Pomodoro?

No. Pomodoro uses fixed focus/break cycles. This tool is a flexible countdown and stopwatch for any duration.
